SBK: Davies: "I missed out on the win due to two mistakes"

There is disappointment on Chaz Davies' face, because as well as missing out on the win in Race 1, the Welshman didn't even reach the podium. The Aruba rider was forced to settle for fourth, difficulties and mistakes preventing him from doing more. Rea has increased his lead and is now 42 points ahead.

unfortunately I made two mistakes, the first was off the line when the bike wheelied and my chances of winning went up in smoke. Then a mistake at the chicane kept me from fighting for the podium”.

Chaz goes into more detail...

The first laps were really complicated, but the Ducati picked up and I was able to be competitive. Unfortunately with a full tank, I wasnt able to be as competitive as I wanted, and was struggling especially in braking”.

For Sunday, the Welshman's strategy will be the same as that adopted by Rea in race 1.

“I'll start from pole tomorrow and the aim is to build a lead and not make any mistakes. Johnny won by doing that today, he had great pace”.

His final comment regards Rea, after the latter said his goal for tomorrow was to fight for second.

We'll see what happens, I'll try to be consistent and avoid any kind of error”.
