MotoGP, Pol Espargarò and KTM together until 2020

The Spaniard renews with the Austrian manufacturer for the next two years, an announcement regarding the hiring of Zarco is still to come

MotoGP: Pol Espargarò and KTM together until 2020

All the signs were there, the only thing missing was official confirmation. And it's finally arrived: Pol Espargarò will continue his adventure with KTM until 2020. The Spaniard had no doubts about renewing his contract with the Austrian manufacturer, doing so right before the Jerez round: “I never considered any other opportunities outside of KTM. I'm pleased to be part of this team and love its philosophy and work method”.

Pol is already looking to the future: “My job is to achieve the preset goals. I don't know if we'll able to do so straight away but I'm sure that sooner or later it will be possible. I thank KTM for the faith it has put in me, and also thank the entire team, we're doing a great job”.

With Espargarò confirmed, we await news regarding the other rider set to join him next season. All the clues lead to Johann Zarco, ready to leave the M1 to jump on to the RC16. Many expect a second KTM announcement ahead of the coming weekend. Will this arrive? It's hard to say. But one thing is sure: at the end of the season, the Austrian manufacturer will conclude its relationship with Bradley Smith, in that its main priority is to hire a top rider for the team.
