MotoGP, Dovizioso: "Austin? I know my strengths"

Lorenzo: "Anything can happen in America. The track may not suit the characteristics of the Ducati, but I have a good feeling"

MotoGP: Dovizioso:

A battle awaits Andrea Dovizioso as he lands on American soil, 15 points ahead of Marc Marquez in the general standings. The Argentinian round favoured the Italian, in that the Spaniard found himself returning home with zero points.

Despite this margin, the Ducati rider has no intention of lowering his guard:  “At Termas we managed to bring home a sixth place, a result that was below our expectations but positive in view of the championship, and now we arrive at Austin, which is a really nice track but rather a difficult one."

In the last two edition, the Italian has struggled to keep pace with the fastest guys in Texas: “We will have to take into consideration the track conditions, because last year there were a lot of bumps, and also the tyres, which can have a bit effect on the weekend."

Andrea has clear ideas anyway: “In any case we know our strong points and we also know which aspects we have to work on, so it will be important to get down to work right away in the first session to prepare well for the race.”

Then there is a Ducati man who's keen to fight back. We're talking about Jorge Lorenzo, still on zero points in the standings:  “We come to Texas for the third round of the season and it will be another chance to continue to improve my feeling with the bike. Even though the Circuit of The Americas is one circuit where I have not yet won a race and it’s not particularly suitable for the characteristics of the Ducati, this year I have a good feeling about it."

The Majorcan tries to keep positive: “We have to continue working hard and improving our speed, and even though Austin is rather a complicated circuit, anything can happen."
