The events of Argentina have left various question marks, but Valentino Rossi's head is focused solely on the track. Following the contact with Marquez, the Doctor returned home from Termas de Rio Hondo with zero points, something that cannot happen again if he wants to keep the hopes of a title fight alive.

The nine-time champ is ready for battle: “Getting back on track after a difficult race, like the one in Argentina, is always important. We have to work to improve our M1 and every session will be crucial. Despite recent goings-on, Valentino is optimistic: “I’m confident. I’m always happy to be in Texas. I like the atmosphere and the track. It hasn’t been a good start to the season, but in Austin I hope to do a good race."

On the other side of the garage, Maverick Vinales hopes to make up for the disappointment of last year, when he crashed out in the early stages: “We need to work to improve the bike. It’s the third race and we can’t afford mistakes. We need to fight for the victory with all our strength."

The Yamaha hasn't forgotten the disappointment of 2017: “unfortunately I crashed at the beginning of the race, so this year I’m set on being able to stay ahead throughout the race, and above all being able to be on the podium. I really like the track and will try to give 100% as always”.
