It was a two-sided Saturday in the Pramac camp. On one hand, there is the huge smile on Jack Miller’s face with his first pole in the premier class; on the other is the disappointment of Danilo Petrucci. It was a complicated day for the Italian rider, who missed out on going through to Q2. Tomorrow he will be forced to start at the back of the group from the eighteenth spot on the grid.

It was a difficult day – Danilo began – Yesterday I made several mistakes in FP2 which compromised our plans on getting into the top ten. However, in FP4 I was able to be rather fast – he admitted – There was a lot of rain on the track though, so I decided to go with a wet setup for Q1.”

It was a decision that proved to be problematic for the Pramac rider.

Unfortunately, the track was beginning to dry out at that moment, so my confidence dropped – the Italian rider pointed outI did not have speed on the corners, the front kept closing up and my performance was not positive.”

Danilo has a bitter taste in his mouth, but at the same time he acknowledges the undertaking of his teammate, Jack Miller.

“I am happy for him. He took a big risk, but he’s in pole position – Petrucci concluded – The problem was the weather conditions. With the track completely dry, I felt competitive, but as soon as it began to dry out it became difficult to ride and it will be complicated tomorrow too.”
