MotoGP, Zarco: "Three tenths more and I can fight for the win"

Johann closes ahead of the factory Yamahas: "With the M1, it's important to be really confident with the front and now I am"

MotoGP: Zarco:

The news of the day is that his M1 is the quickest on track at Losail. As Friday comes to an end, Johann Zarco surprises Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi, closing with the fifth fastest time, less than three tenths from the front. An important sign for the Frenchman who confirms his growth on board the Yamaha.

“I'm focusing on acceleration, in order to make the most of tyre grip. We haven't made any drastic changes to the bike today, just a few details. We just need to continue step by step along this path”.

One thing is certain - Johann is closing in on the quickest guys.

“I need three tenths more to be able to fight for the win.  So we need more speed, though I have to say that we've really improved with regard to corner exit. The M1 has great potential and I think we're working in the right direction on the frame and suspension”.

This season, the rider has often said he is inspired by Lorenzo's riding back when he was on board the Yamaha.

“Jorge's style was very effective with the Yamaha, he was really competitive. So it's important to really master the bike, in braking but also in accleration”.

There is one particular aspect the Frenchman is focusing on.

I need to be fully confident with the front, right now I feel I am, but I want to continue to grow”.
