Moto3, Migno: "I'm hungry for excitement"

The team Sky VR46 rider works hard to improve his results: "I want to be strong in the race finales to contend for podiums and wins"

Moto3: Migno: "I'm hungry for excitement"

Andrea Migno is thought of as the team man in the crowded team Sky VR46 locker room, thanks to his charm and personality, "wild" when he needs to be, always with a smile on his lips and with the spirit of a person who wants to share both moments of joy as well as less happy times.

In his third year on team KTM Moto3, the rider from Cattolica is ready for the 2017 challenge: "after these years spent together - Andrea reveals - I am truly pleased to be considered an example by my teammates. I like to be in the group, work with the team and, during the winter, I spent a lot of time training in the gym, as if it was my second home. I improved a lot from both a physical and mental point of view."

On the official leathers of the team Sky VR46 riders, in addition to the classic team and sponsor colours, their own personal colours appeared, chosen by the riders themselves to distinguish themselves and convey their own style. Migno chose the colour orange, which represents excitement and hunger, in other words, a hunger for excitement. Andrea himself confirmed this choice: "I have always liked the colour orange and since I had the chance to choose it for my leathers, I spoke up. You ask me if I am hungry for excitement? Why not? In fact, yes. Experiencing a lot of excitement is one of my goals for the 2017 season, in addition to achieving the best possible results for myself and for the team."

It could be said that the 2017 season begins today. What advice did Valentino give you?
"I pick back up from what he told me last year. I need to prepare as best as possible to always be strong, always focused, in every single test and in every Grand Prix. I want to be consistent and at one hundred percent for every race. I think that the results will come with this attitude."

Who will be the rival to beat this year?

"Last year it was Brad Binder. In fact, he won the title with KTM. Now I know that I’ll have not just one rival to beat, but several: Bastianini, Mir, Bulega and many others. To see who will be the fastest, we’ll have to wait for the first races."

What part of the race do you need to improve in?

"In all the stages, from the start to the final stages. The race finale is the most difficult moment to manage and I will try to be stronger and more concrete, because in the finale of a Grand Prix, you can make a play for the win or the podium positions."

Last year there were three of you on the team. This year there are two of you. Do you think this is a disadvantage or do you prefer this condition?

"Maybe the setup with two riders is better. Maybe having two riders guarantees you a bit more tranquillity in the garage because you are able to work better and with more serenity. However, I must also say that we worked well last year too. The number of riders in the garage is not what determines the end result."

What do you wish for yourself?

"It’s bad luck to wish anything (he laughs). If anything, I’ll say ‘knock on wood!’"
