It is a dark Thursday in Valencia for Fabio Di Giannantonio. On the second and final day of Moto2 and Moto3 tests, the team Gresini standard-bearer fractured his right collarbone. With just a few minutes left in the session, the Roman fell victim to a violent highside on turn four that threw him from his Honda, caused by his tyre being too cold.
Rescue responders were on the track immediately, transporting the Roman to the hospital near the Valencia circuit. At the moment assessments are being made to decide whether the rider will return to Italy early for surgery. This is certainly a hard blow for Di Giannantonio, with the Championship opener less than two months away.
