Sylvain Guintoli is considering taking part in the Suzuka 8 Hours and so, to prepare, he thought he's come to test the GSX-R 1000, in its Endurance configuration, at Sepang.

The French rider, waiting for his fifth child to be born “you know - he joked - it's cold in England in winter” will race in the BSB championship this year.

“I really like this Suzuki, it's almost a MotoGP - he told us - certain details of the fairing are similar to the Hayabusa, it's seems imposing but it's actually small. I'm waiting for the track to improve, because it's useless to test when it's partly wet”.

The British Superbike regulation, as we know, is different to that of the world series. Electronic assistance is also limited.

“It's a lot of sun, because there's a lot of power. Though in England it often rains and in the wet, at certain tracks.... you need to know how to ride”.

‘Guinters’ is happy to race in the UK.

“I live there, it's all a lot simpler. But I'd like to do the Suzuka 8 Hours with this bike”.
The 2014 Superbike world champion will develop the GSX-R in the BSB and a move back to SBK in 2018 is not ruled out.
