MotoGP, Suzuki working towards 2018: new frame at Aragon

Iannone and Rins conclude two days of practice having tested a lot of new material: the new bike will arrive in time for Valencia test

MotoGP: Suzuki working towards 2018: new frame at Aragon

The weather behaved this time, meaning that Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins could make the most of the two days of testing at Aragon, unlike what happened at Misano. The two riders had a lot of material to test and the work focused particularly on directing development ahead of next season.

For this reason, both riders were able to test many new parts, including a brand-new frame. Andrea and Alex didn't hold back, with the Italian completing 170 laps over the two days, the Spaniard 142.

We're very pleased with these two days because it was important to have time to test some things that we already had and some new things too, without any pressure - said team manager Davide Brivio - The weather was perfect and we were able to test some new configurations, which we will use in the remaining races this season, and new parts for the 2018 bike, which we'd like to have ready for the Valencia test in November”.

That will be a first chance to see the new GSX-RR.

It won't be a completely new bike, but an evolution of the current one - he explains - We've tested the new material for the first time here at Aragon and were able to give the engineers important feedback. I'd say that we've worked with one eye on the season finale and one on next year. These tests were also very important for the riders of course, Alex is continuing to build experience and Andrea is improving his sensations with the bike”.
