Casey Stoner was back on the GP17 at Valencia today for testing scheduled as part of the MotoGP development plan.

Gigi Dall'Igna will use the input from the expert Australian rider to prepare Andrea Dovizioso's final assault as he fights for the title in the reigning class.

Data on the 2007 world champion has not been provided but Stoner completed his scheduled work today and will hand over to Ducati test rider Michele Pirro, who will rider tomorrow. Stoner will then be back on track on Wednesday.

As underlined by HRC team principal Livio Suppo, the manufacturers use the maximum number of tyres foreseen for testing in order to prepare for the Grand Prix.

"It's a situation that needs to be looked at - explained the Italian manager - because for the Japanese manufacturers, so far from Europe, it's obviously impossible and uneconomical to carry out this kind of test".
