Aprilia was also at Misano recently, preparing both for the Silverstone round scheduled for this weekend and for the upcoming Italian Riviera round in September.

The tests conducted on the track named for Marco Simoncelli gave the team from Noale confidence and now they are aiming for redemption in Great Britain: “Silverstone is a track where we expect to be able to do well  - Romano Albesiano said - both because of the characteristics of the track and because of the good results of the Misano test. It is a complete and interesting circuit - added the MotoGP project manager - with high speed direction changes and that is an area where we have taken big steps forward, plus it has overall characteristics that are favourable to the qualities of the RS-GP.”.

For the British round, Aleix Espargaró wants to get rid of the bitter taste the Red Bull Ring left, where he finished only thirteenth: “This is one of the tracks that I like - the Spaniard commented - The only problem is the weather forecast!”

There is an aspect that gives the number 41 rider confidence: “There is no acceleration from very low speeds - he analysed - and that is an area where we still suffer a bit, so that should help us in finding the right setup for the RS-GP. In the last race I struggled - he recalled - but I want to get back up to our levels straight away.”

And then there is Sam Lowes. Silverstone is a race with a special flavour for him, because he will be racing in front of his home crowd: " I can't wait to race in front of my home fans - he said - hey have always been extremely supportive and that is a very nice thing.”  He is also concerned about the unpredictable weather: “I have a few doubts about the weather, but we'll adjust - he advised - This is a circuit where we should be able to do well, given the type of braking and the fast, flowing turns.”
