SBK, Miller: Suzuka? Never so shattered after a race

Jack reveals after finishing fourth: "This race saps all your physical and mental strength", the result? "A pity, we could have been on the podium"

SBK: Miller: Suzuka? Never so shattered after a race

It was his first Endurance race and not one he'll easily forget we don't think. HARC-PRO opted for Jack Miller for the Suzuka 8 Hours and the Australian didn't disappoint. When he headed out for his second stint, the Honda rider had the bit between his teeth, showing Alex Lowes that he had no intention of making things easy for him.

But a crash for Nakagami then sent the team's ambitions up in smoke, and they had to settle for fourth, just missing out on the podium. The disappointment is clear to see on Miller's face: “It's a real pity - commented the rider – we made a really strong start and were competitive. We didn't need that crash – he added – we were unlucky, especially in the penultimate pit-stop, as we had a problem with the light”.

Miller tries to see the glass half full: “We could have reached the podium – he underlines – we had everything we needed to do that. We're disappointed of course, but I'm satisfied with fourth place. This was my first Endurance race and it tires you out like nothing else – he continued - both mentally and physically, but I had fun”.

“If i were to come back next year? I'd definitely be looking to win!”
