MotoGP: Dovizioso: Even as leader, I won't change my way of racing

He arrives in Germany as leader of the pack. His fifth place finish in Holland sees Andrea Dovizioso now leading the championship, an opportunity he doesn't want to waste. The Sachsenring is Marquez's turf, but the Italian does not fear his rival, also because he's already reached the podium on two occasions at the German track: This is a track that has created a few problems for us in the past - he recalls - but it has just been resurfaced and so it will be new for everyone. As always we will have to take account of the behaviour of the tyres, especially in this case seeing as no one has been able to test on the new track surface."

Being the new championship leader won't alter the way he approaches the race weekend: “It gives me great satisfaction to arrive in Germany as leader of the championship, but it won’t change my way of racing  - underlined #4  - even in the past, I’ve never raced for each individual result, always with one eye on the championship: we’ll try and do a good job here in Germany to get the best possible result in Sunday’s race.

On the other side of the garage, Jorge Lorenzo is looking to bounce back after Dutch disappointment. His performance at the TT track did not meet with expectation: “After a difficult weekend at Assen, I can’t wait to arrive at the Sachsenring to resume the positive trend we demonstrated in the races before the Dutch GP - commented the Majorcan, who has ever won in Germany - the German track has a new surface and I’m pleased about that because for sure it’ll help us have better grip."

Jorge has very clear ideas: "We will have to see immediately what the tyre wear is like on the new surface, but in any case the most important thing for me will be to find a positive feeling with the bike again and get back to being competitive.”
