MotoGP: Espargaró: "Tomorrow could be a great day for us"

The Aprilia MotoGP bike is growing very well (in the hands of Espargaró) and the excellent result achieved in the Catalunya Grand Prix qualifiers - fifth final time less than half a second behind Pedrosa’s pole with Honda - highlights the work done by Team Gresini until today, with Aleix back to being the rider that had impressed everyone, especially in the days of the CRT, when he was riding an ART, also made in Noale.

Apparently, the Spaniard loves the bikes from Veneto, with which he manages to gain particular confidence: “After a very tight qualifying session, I am very happy - Espargaró is pleased - and to be honest I had expected to do even better than the fifth best time because I felt the soft tyres working well. But a mistake on the first corner cost me time on my flying lap. In any case, my feeling with the RS-GP is excellent, especially thinking of the race tomorrow.”

Aleix knows that, starting from the fifth spot on the grid, he will have excellent chances to do well…

Fifth place on the starting grid is the best result so far for us on team Aprilia and that will make life easier in the race tomorrow. The track will be even more slippery than today and anything can happen. I am motivated, positive, I feel good on my bike and I have a good race pace. I think that tomorrow, on this track that truly has very little grip, anything could happen and it could be a great day for us.”
