"Today it was key for Honda to dominate the front row. Jerez isn't even one of my favourite tracks, so this results makes me even more happy. We've worked hard, trying various solutions, though we haven't focused particularly on the set-ups. The guys must be tired, considering the work they've done overnight”.

“It's a pity, because it's in T3 and T4 that I'm losing the most. We're trying to do something to resolve this problem.”
What do you think about the tyres ahead of the race?
“We've used most part of the tyre, the soft rear won't last race distance, while we're not too sure about the medium. The hard is the most reassuring, though we need to see if it will be fast enough. If that tyre works, the Hondas will have an extra gear compared to the other bikes”.
Aside from Marc and Dani, you also had to battle insects?
“I think it was a wasp, it stung me five times, first on the chest and then the arm. In the end I had to stop and take my leathers off. Luckily it died”.
It's you against the Spaniards.
“I have no choice, if I want to win, I need to do it in Spain, I can't change country. They'll be ready to push, perhaps I'll wait for sparks to fly and then score a good result. Jorge's also fast, Maverick too. Perhaps I'll let them go, hoping that they make some great passes (he says ironically). Who knows! I also have Spanish mechanics who often talk about Barcelona, to annoy them I bring them the Real shirt (he jokes).
