MotoGP, Iannone: significant margin but little time

Andrea after finishing Jerez practice in 16th: "we're working on the electronics, the problem is closing the gap quickly"

MotoGP: Iannone: significant margin but little time

For Iannone it's been another day of passion, trying to solve the problems with his Suzuki. Before arriving at Jerez, he knew he'd have to grit his teeth as he awaits new parts for the GSX-RR that he will test on Monday.

He cannot be satisfied with 16th place.

It's definitely been a difficult day - he admits - Less complicated than I thought in the wet, in Argentina I suffered in these conditions while here we've been able to improve with each exit and have made the right changes”.

Then what happened in the dry?
"In the afternoon session there were damp patches of track, particularly at the start, but conditions aside, I'm not totally satisfied.  I like the behaviour of the frame but we're struggling in acceleration, particularly out of the tight corners.

What's the problem?
The bike is wheeling a lot and the rear slides. I hope that we can improve a lot and close most of the gap to the guys at the front”.

What are you doing to limit the problem?
We're working on the electronics but it's clear we're having difficulty. It's not easy for me to say what steps we should take because I'm not an engineer, we'll see. I believe in the team and I'm here to get back to being among the best. I think we still have a significant margin, the problem is catching up in the short time available”.
