MotoGP: Zarco: I did not want to cause a problem for Valentino

The most talked about episode of the Austin GP was the one involving Rossi and Zarco, which resulted in a penalty of 3 tenths for the Italian. Valentino scolded Johann for his attempted pass “He needs to be more calm, he came in too late.

Then he looked for an explanation of the move, “Moto2 is much different: they all have the same bike, the same tyres, the same engine and I understand that overtaking is more difficult.Pedrosa also agreed: “When you overtake in MotoGP you must understand that there are many different things. The bikes are heavier and more powerful, the speeds are higher and above all, the riders are much better” he smiled.

Zarco, on his part, apologized to the Doctor.

I felt good on the Yamaha. I began to attack and I managed to overtake my rivals quickly and move into 5th place - he recounted - I wanted to follow the lead group, so I pushed to stay close to Valentino and I managed to battle with him. It was fantastic. At a certain point, we were very close because I was a bit faster than him on the third corner, or maybe I was trailing him a bit too closely. Fortunately, nothing serious happened and he was able to finish second. I truly did not want to cause a problem for Vale and I know that I can learn a lot from him. Luckily we were both able to recover.

In the end, Johann finished with an excellent 5th place.

After that episode I continued to do my best, but in the end Crutchlow was a little faster than me. Fifth place is a good result and I am happy because the podium was close in this race.
