MotoGP, Crutchlow: I battled with Vale... and a red light

MotoGP: Crutchlow: I battled with Vale... and a red light

It was up to Cal Crutchlow to remedy the Honda situation after a disastrous day. With Marquez and Pedrosa crashing out, the LCR rider scored a podium in Argentina which is worth gold. Also because the Brit didn't start his season in the best way in Qatar.

At Losail I could have been top 5 but instead I crashed and it was a disaster  - he recalls - Reaching the podium here is great, for me and the team”.

It wasn't an easy race for Cal.

“After the start a red warning light came on on the dash, but I was able to keep calm. I managed the situation and tried to follow Maverick, but then I realised Valentino was right behind me. I decided to push again, but the light came back on. When he passed me, I realised he had better grip than me. The Honda isn't the easiest bike to ride right now, but the team did a really great job".

Crutchlow also had the harder front tyre but unlike Marquez and Pedrosa he managed to stay upright.

Marc was pushing like an animal, he is able to ride a the limit right from the first corner. I didn't try to follow him, I thought I'd try and reach him later in the race. The problem is that the Honda moves a lot and when it does that, it's easy to lose the front, I also risked crashing more than once, I think Valentino realised this while following me”.

Now Austin awaits.

"I can't wait to get there, also because my wife and daughter are waiting for me in Texas".
