The MotoGP, in 2017, is not without its new features. Several riders have changed team and one of these is Iannone, who has left the red Ducati camp for the blue Suzuki garage. A marriage that got off to a good start, before some incomprehension regarding the GSX-RR in recent tests. There are clearly still things to resolve

"I feel relaxed, I've found an environment in which I can work calmly- explains Andrea - My first approach with the Suzuki was great, both at Valencia and Sepang I went well, then there were some reasons why we ran into difficulty. I'm talking about some changes that mean we need to adapt again”.

Iannone is vague, but then goes further into detail.

They changed the front tyre, I'm not saying it's worse now but it's different - he explains - In fact, in the first test, I didn't have any issues with the front”.

Results then got worse.

Yes, but that happens when you work so much during testing - he underlines - Also, we shouldn't forget that we struggled mainly in Qatar, at Phillip Island I was fast on day two. Now we're trying to solve the problem, we'll try to work on the set-up and if that doesn't work we'll head down another path. The Japanese engineers are very prepared in this sense”.

Time is running out, but the Maniac remains optimistic.

My pace in the tests wasn't bad but I also know that I wasn't very close to the front 4 or 4. The hope is that we can improve and fight for the podium” he concludes.
