The winter break has already begun for Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, the two factory Honda riders will not take part in testing taking place at Jerez from Wednesday to Friday next week. The reason is simple, the two Spaniards have already completed their scheduled work during the two-day test at Valencia and so the decision has been made to save some of the 5 test days that the regulation allows riders over the course of the season.

Honda will be present at Jerez though, with test rider Hiroshi Aoyama and, on one of the three days, also with Jack Miller. The Australian will be able to build confidence with his new crew chief Ramon Aurin and his two new electronic engineers Andy Griffiths and Yoshihiko Ishimoto. Jack should also test the new engine.

Ducati will have to do without Lorenzo and Dovizioso, but will be out in force at Jerez. Test rider Michele Pirro and the satellite teams (Pramac, Aspar and Avintia) will all complete a two-day test. Danilo Petrucci, having missed the Valencia test, should be riding the GP17 for the first time.

Two days of testing also for Andrea Iannone on the Suzuki, while Alex Rins will be forced to sit the test out, having injured two vertebrae at Valencia. The factory Aprilia and KTM teams will also take part.
