Badovini returns to SBK with Kawasaki Grillini

After a great Supersport season with the Honda CBR600 of team Lorini, with which he obtained a win in Malaysia and a third place finish in Magny-Cours, Ayrton Badovini has decided to return to SBK, a category in which he has done well in the past, and he will do so on a Kawasaki, the bike with which he made his debut in 2008.

A ZX10R will be made available to the talented Italian by team Grillini. Ayrton has previously competed in the top class with BMW, Bimota and Ducati bikes. The former Superstock champion is pleased to be part of a professional, experienced team and he will make his debut during tests at Jerez on 21 and 22 November: “I'm really pleased about this new adventure that I am embarking on in SBK with team Grillini -commented Ayrton-  we've come to an agreement with Andrea and our shared vision of the project will mean great results for everyone. I'm convinced we'll surprise many people ”.

Andrea Grillini, manager and owner of the Italian team, echoes the words of Badovini: “after some negotiation, I've been able to bring Ayrton on board and I'm really pleased to have done so. During the 2016 season we've been missing results but have all worked very hard. We have everything we need to be competitive, especially with a rider of the caliber of Badovini”.

The Grillini SBK team is working to secure a second rider to join Badovini. The final decision will be made soon.
