MotoGP, Lorenzo: I've renewed confidence in the Yamaha

Lorenzo was hoping for a good day and he got it at Misano today. Setting the fourth time, only 0.15 of a second from leader Espargarò, gives him confidence and he has no qualms about stating: “I have the pace to fight for the win”.

This would be the best medicine for the critical situation he appears to find himself in right now.

“Today we've found the right path to take in terms of the setting - he explains - I feel better on the bike and can have a more constant and fast pace. I'm more confident. I'm very pleased, this afternoon I think I was the only one who didn't use a new tyre at the end of the session, I could have lowered by time by at least another half second”.

The tyres seem to be key at this GP.

“In the afternoon it was very hot and, strangely, the hard rear tyre wasn't working - he says - I moved over to the soft and it was better, I think that could be an option for the race too. It seems to offer more grip than at Silverstone”.

And at the front?

“I like the medium - he responds - With the soft, this morning, it was easy to crash because the track was very dirty. I was lucky to stay upright”.
