There will always be tiffs between riders and these often make the headlines, especially if they involve one or more top riders. So, when Aleix Esparagarò recounts how his day on track went and how he feels, the main point on today's agenda could only be the disagreement between him and Valentino Rossi, which culminated in the Doctor giving the Spaniard the middle finger.

What happened during the session with Valentino?

“I think you should really ask him. He accused me of slowing him down, but from the video you can see that I wasn't in the middle of his line, but a little slow as I was coming into the pits. I've told him more than once to watch the video footage, he continues to say no and that I should be pay more attention and be more focused on track.  I don't need to pay any more attention than I already do”.

How was your day anyway? What did you work on?

“At this track we need to work mainly on the tyres. That's what we've been doing and I'm feeling positive. We've focused mainly on the front, trying the various compounds and I had the best feeling with the hard one. With that tyre I was fast in the final stages. At the rear I preferred the soft, it seemed to offer more grip. In both cases the difference wasn't massive though, so we have more work to do".

Are you thinking more about the race or tomorrow's qualifying?

“This afternoon we had to concentrate more on the race, because the track temperature was similar to what it will be on Sunday. I'm pleased in terms of the tyres over a long distance, though I still haven't decided which to use during the race. The lap times and subsequent position aren't the best, but tomorrow morning we'll start working in preparation for qualifying and I'm feeling confident”.
