Alex Lowes could replace injured Bradley Smith on the Yamaha M1 of team Tech3 at the British Grand Prix, taking place at Silverstone next Sunday.

"We're not yet about Bradley's condition - stated Alex, twin to Sam who currently rides in Moto2 and is moving to MotoGP next year with Aprilia - but if they asked me take his place it would be fantastic".

Alex rides in Superbike with Pata-Yamaha and tested the M1 for the first time during the Brno tests. He made just 15 laps with an interesting time of 1.59.558, though crashed on the last lap.

"You did it all in just one day - joked Pol Espargarò in a friendly fashion - crash included".

If Yamaha decides against Lowes, who would be an interesting option also for the British public, test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga may ride, his past experiencing including second place in the Valencia GP in 2012. Last season Nakasuga finished the Japanese MotoGP at Motegi in eighth place.
