Ducati leads the way as the first morning of the Austrian tests draws to a close. The standings can be seen here below, though there is an error when it comes to Miller's (impossible) time. Ignoring this technical setback, it's clear that it was the two Andreas setting the pace this morning.

Iannone and Dovizioso were the only riders to duck under 1’25”, with the former lapping in 1’24”669 and the latter in 1’24”788. Time references that no-one else was able to replicate. Aleix Espargarò gave it a shot, but is four tenths behind on the Suzuki, while Scott Redding is half a second back, immediately quick on his GP15.

Fifth place for another GSX-RR, that of Maverick Vinales, with a time of 1’25”317, 54, just a fraction of a second quicker than Lorenzo, who is followed in turn by Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi, 8th. Also inside the top ten is Yonny Hernandez, ahead of star test rider Casey Stoner (with a time of 1’25”847).

The KTMs are also on track and while Tom Luthi, on only his second outing with the RC16, is last, Mika Kallio is 12th with a gap of move than 1.5 seconds from the front. Danilo Petrucci is further back this morning, lying 13th.

Aprilia is also taking part in the tests with Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl, but they don't have transponders on the bikes.

The battle will recommence after the lunch break.
