MotoGP, Zarco to ride the Suzuki GSX-RR in Japan

The Frenchman, a probable Yamaha rider in 2017 but with a 2016 Suzuki contract, shakes up the Moto2 market

Zarco to ride the Suzuki GSX-RR in Japan

The Moto2 championship is still wide open with Alex Rins leading with 116 points, followed by Sam Lowes (-8) and Johann Zarco (-10) but all three protagonists are already thinking about next year and the move to MotoGP.

Sam will be on the Aprilia RS-GP, while Alex and Johann should ride for Suzuki and Yamaha respectively.
'Should' because not only have their been no official confirmations as yet, but also because the situation is still unclear with the French rider, a candidate to replace Pol Espargarò in team Tech3, is in Japan for a test with the Suzuki GSX-RR which should become Alex's in 2017!

In reality, Zarco has an agreement with Suzuki to carry out certain tests and race in the Suzuka 8 Hours.
The key to unravelling this knot is Alex Rins who, approached by Hervé Poncharal said that he wasn't willing to move to a MotoGP team if not with a factory team.
So today 'his' bike is in the hands of Zarco in Japan.
