MotoGP, Espargarò: for Suzuki I'm less important than I thought

Aleix heading for a farewell: "Aprilia is a possibility but I've also had some interesting offers from SBK"

MotoGP: Espargarò: for Suzuki I'm less important than I thought

The relationship between Aleix Espargarò and Suzuki has become tired and it's looking liking that they will go their separate ways at the end of this season. Alex Rins should be getting on the GSX-RR while its current owner is looking for a new direction.

I realised I'm not as important to Suzuki as I thought - says Aleix - I understood this at Mugello and it wasn't easy to accept. They haven't said anything to me yet, but that's my feeling”.

The Spaniard feels he doesn't deserve this treatment.

I'm 6th in the championship, not far from Pedrosa in 4th and I had a difficult winter - he underlines - I can't say I'm angry, but bothered by it yes. Suzuki put its faith in me two years ago, giving me a factory bike, and I'll always be grateful. But the GSX-RR wasn't so good at the start, they've worked hard but I have done the same”.

At this point, Espargarò has to decide where his future will lie, and a move to Aprilia is not just a hypothesis.

Leaving Suzuki isn't my choice but theirs - he continues - Aprilia is one of the possibilities, but at Mugello I also started talking with others. I also have a couple of interesting options in SBK”.

What's Aleix looking for?

The aim is to go where I'm really wanted. The important thing, in life, is to enjoy yourself and be happy", he replies.
