Iannone will be wearing team Suzuki colours for the next two seasons. Following the announcement this week from Ducati of Dovizioso's renewal, news arrived today from Hamamatsu confirming a two-year contract with the rider from Abruzzo and Vinales' separation at the end of the season.

A move is also expected shortly from Yamaha, who have chosen Vinales to replace Lorenzo.

Davide Brivio commented: “We're happy to have Andrea on the team for the next two years. He is one of the best riders in MotoGP, in addition to having great passion and motivation which is in line with our philosophy. Our technical project is in constant evolution and we are working hard to make our GSX-RR competitive and to be able to consistently battle for the win as soon as possible. We wanted a rider who could help us continue on this path. Andrea is fast and he is hungry for success. His riding style adapts well to the characteristics of our bike and this makes us optimistic that our collaboration will be positive. Iannone is already in his fourth year in MotoGP and his experience will be helpful for the entire team.
