The Ducati XDiavel is "Best of the Best"

The Bolognese cruiser has received the “Red Dot Award: Best of the Best” in the “Product Design” category, one of the most prestigious international design awards. On 4 July the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany, will host the "Red Dot Award” Gala, with 1200 guests representing the best of international design.

Each year, the “Red Dot Design Award” goes to the most original and worthy design and innovation projects. A highly qualified jury, composed of 40 internationally renowned experts, evaluated over 5000 products, awarding the XDiavel S the title of “Red Dot Award 2016: Best of the Best”.

This prize shows how a Ducati bike can also be an icon of style, innovation and performance. The new XDiavel represented a challenge for Ducati and for its Design Centre, tasked with designing a bike that was an evolution of Ducati DNA but in the cruiser mould.

“Long, low, muscular with modern shapes and sophisticated components. And, above all, sexy”, commented Andrea Ferraresi, Manager of the Ducati Design Centre. “A bike designed with the Cruiser world in mind, on the one hand and, on the other, Ducati DNA. A bike that projects the Cruiser concept into modernity, a true "Technocruiser", futuristic in its lines and technologically cutting-edge.

"Extreme in its proportions, the XDiavel was intentionally designed "piece by piece” continues Ferraresi. "The frame, tank, headlight, rear fairing, silencer all have a life of their own if viewed individually but, at the same time, they come together in an extremely harmonious and balanced way. To receive recognition in the form of a Red Dot Award really rewards Ducati's creativity and innovation but also our courage in taking on new challenges and continuing to embark along new paths”.
